It’s the little things 3

I have had a wonderful Friday so far, and I’ve only been awake for 3 and a half hours! Here’s why today rocked.

  1. I woke up at 1.30PM today! Considering that lately I’ve been waking up at 3 or 4 in the afternoon, this was a truly monumental occasion.
  2. My best friend Jo from Year 10 (that was five years ago, holy crap!) emailed me out of the blue and to let me know she was thinking of me! We were together in Malaysia, and we were inseparable. Now I’m studying in Canberra, and she’s in Mississippi of all places! She is one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. And I know a lot of nice people!
  3. I was walking across Garema Place today, and somebody yells, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY NURIE!” (even though my birthday’s not till Sunday, haha!) It turned out to be Shaun! I would have gone over and said hi, but Brendan was there and he always picks on me.
  4. Had a lovely chat with Sophie in Felt (the best clothing store in Canberra). She always has the kookiest stories and is so much fun to talk to! She also gave me a discount because she loves me!
  5. Got a slice of veggie pizza from the food court. All the seats by the window were taken, so I sat by myself at the far end of the food court where it’s quieter. I ended up sitting near a dude whose shirt read, ‘I WANT LAKSA, NASI LEMAK, ROTI PRATA, TEH TARIK…‘ and I asked him if he had been to Singapore. He laughed and said that no, he just has a thing for funny shirts and that he’d gotten it off a mate.
  6. I went to Typo and I saw that they were selling novelty ice-cream lamps! I’ve been wanting a pink one SO BADLY. I asked the shopkeeper how much they were. Kinda pricey. But she said they would be going for half price next week! CHEAP! She told me to come back next week and she’d reserve one for me. People, ALWAYS BE NICE TO SHOP ATTENDANTS! THEY WILL RETURN THE FAVOUR!
  7. I had a $2 coin so I put it in the gachapon machine and I got a Pikachu phonecharm! I was hoping for Chikorita, but close enough! ;) Better Pikachu than Arceus. Or Giratina. Why are the new legendaries so fugly?!

Here’s what I wore today.

June 4th Shirt: Purr from Myer
Fake leather jacket: Felt
Necklace: six-in-a-row from Handmade Market
Skirt: some random store in Brunei
Tights: Scooter (which seems to be closed indefinitely now, poo!)
Sneakers: Vans

BIT.TRIP RUNNER 1

If you own a Wii, then this game is an absolute MUST. It’s stylistically amazing! It features gorgeous, chunky pixelated-but-3D graphics and music by the amazing Anamanaguchi (who are also laying down the beats for the Scott Pilgrim video game 8D)! It’s a sort of rhythm/platformer hybrid. You’ve got your little black pixel dude (Commander Video) who keeps on running. All you can do is jump at first, but as the levels progress, you get to slide, spring, kick and it gets super confusing! It’s basically all about doing the right move at the right time to ensure you don’t bump into something or fall off the edge. If you mess up, Commander Video zooms back to the beginning of the level, and you have to do it all. Over. Again. The only bad thing about this game is that it’s actually really hard. I haven’t even beaten the first world yet.

Forget Guitar Hero. All the songs suck and the characters are kinda creepy looking. This is the only rhythm game you’ll ever need.

ps. So sorry for the lack of updates! I sorta forgot my password. :P

the owls go. 4

Hello internet! It’s been about five years since I closed down my last public blog. Just as well, it was full of idiotic teenage ramblings anyway. I can’t believe people read that shit. Ah well, such is the mystery of life. I was fifteen, young and stupid. Now I am nineteen, (turning TWENTY this year! o///o) which is slightly older, but I assure you, I am still very stupid.

Now, I’ve owned guiltycubicles.org for two years. (Alex gave it to me for my seventeenth birthday) For two whole years, and I only ever used it for school projects and hosting pictures. What a waste, eh? I’ve finally gotten off my lazy butt and done something! (Alex’s threats to shut the place down gave me the shove I needed.) Lets just hope I’ll be able to keep it up!

I guess I’ll be using this place to talk about… the places I go, things I see and stuff I make! It’s probably not going to be all that exciting, but look forward to it!
